Approach

I’m a compassionate and authentic therapist who uses evidenced-based treatments. Partnering with adolescents, young adults, and parents to set goals, improve lives, reduce symptoms, and affirm identity is the foundation of all my work. Finding a therapist who feels like a good fit, meets your needs, and helps you feel empowered to do hard things can be a challenge. Please reach out to see if I’m a good fit for you.

I am behaviorally trained and experienced in providing a variety of treatments shown by research to be effective for anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, self-harm, suicidality, and emotion dysregulation:

  • Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT)

  • Exposure and response prevention (ERP)

  • Trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT)

  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)

I collaborate with family members, schools, and healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists and physicians as needed and requested to provide collaborative, well-rounded care.

I follow the WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) Standards of Care and the APA’s (American Psychological Association) Guidelines for Psychological Practice with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming People. When meeting with transgender and gender-diverse clients, I utilize my developmental lens, extensive training using evidenced-based treatments, and my experience with and passion for this community to work together to find pathways to live life authentically. We do this while bringing loved ones along on the journey. Family acceptance of LGBTQ+ youth significantly lowers risk of depression, suicide, and substance use and results in improved overall health, self-esteem, social and family relationships (Family Acceptance Project). As such, I am passionate about partnering with parents on their own journey of parenting a trans or nonbinary teen.
